The synch module will add a new item to the Standard toolbar in Outlook labeled ‘Merak Outlook Connector’:
If you do not see this toolbar in Outlook after completing the setup wizard, try restarting Outlook. To run the first synch, click the round ‘synchronize all’ icon located to the right side of the Merak Outlook Connector toolbar. The progress bar will appear, complete, and then go away. Click the ‘synchronize all’ button again. The progress bar will go slower this time and you should see a count for the number of items it has to process. The amount of time it takes to run this first synch will vary depending upon the number of items in Outlook, and your computer and Internet speeds. The first synch typically takes the longest as subsequent synchs only look at changes.
After the initial synch completes on your local computer, login to the WebDesk and open Outlook on the WebDesk. If the synch process doesn’t start automatically, click the Synchronize All icon on the Outlook connector toolbar.
Once the WebDesk copy of Outlook has finished synching, you may want to synch Mortgage Quest with it. Open Mortgage Quest, select File \ Synchronize Data \ Microsoft Outlook, and click Yes to the prompts. This process will synch contacts and borrowers only. To synch appointments and tasks, click the Refresh icon on the top toolbar, select the options for reading the appointments and tasks, and then click Ok.
After running the initial synch processes, you may want to review configuring the synch options to set your preferences for how the connector will operate from here forward.
